Ifa Verses: Ifa said that he sees someone who owns neither a plate nor a calabash, everyone, including his own relatives, say he has a bad head and are making fun of him. Ifa said this person will become important in the near future and that he will have his revenge. From the beginning of time all the animals took advantage of Lion. If he lay asleep on the ground, they climbed on top of him; they never showed him proper respect. Lion got ready and went to the diviners; he asked them what he could do to gain honor and glory among his associates. The diviners said that he should sacrifice one calabash of water, ashes, three clubs, and Ifa's leaves (the leaf of honor). They said he should crush the leaves of Ifa in the water, add the ashes to it, and then drink it. And they told him that when he lay down anywhere, he should first make a circle of urine about the spot. After Lion had made this sacrifice, when he wanted to sleep, he urinated about the place where he was going to lie down. When the other animals wanted to lie on top of him, as in times past, if they stepped over his urine, they fell dead upon the ground. Thus Lion came to be feared by the other animals; when they hear his voice, they are frightened and tremble riri. And since then, when Lion roars, he said, Aside from man, aside from myself, aside from the Sky God, who else is there? Ifa said there is someone who has a title; he will be removed from office and a person who stays in the corner will be chosen to fill his position. All people will rub their hands to the person of the corner, and pay homage to him. Threr is also a deity that was once worshipped by all the people of a house; but they do not worship him anymore and the forest has overgrown his altar. We should renovate the altar and tie young palm fronds at its entrance. The person of the corner is someone at whom young children and old people alike are sneering; but he will leave his corner and come out into the open. There is a hen at the house of a person for whom this figure was cast. This hen has chicks; we should take both the hen and the young to make the sacrifice. Ifa said that a person who stays in the corner will come out into the open; he will occupy an important position, and he will remain in office a long time. The sacrifice is one black he-goat, two shillings six pence, and one large cloth which he had hidden away.

Work with papers or things of that nature, that you should not tell your secrets to no one, so that your affairs go well and be cautious with people of the country(place away from city) or that they do witchcraft to you. Be careful with the house that you may visit, that they may cause you to become upset, but don't get upset, because you have death after you and you could have a heart attack. Take things as they come but with tranquillity on your behalf. You may have a friend that may turn his/her back on you because of another person or gossip. Ifa said that you thinking of going on a trip or going to the country, but first you must do ebo before you depart because you find yourself in a mess or worse, that you must do a mass for your mother or other deceased family member. You must dress in white as much as possible for now and be patient and calm with your affairs, That everything you have destined will come. That must be careful of fire at home or at work. Ifa said you have heard speak of a rich man that has become poor, That you now don't have much money and if you have money you are afraid to lose it. That you must put on the table or mat where you are being consulted and the awo will offer a blessing and afoche so that you may ask to Olofi and Orunmila what you want. That your menstrual is not well and the blood is too black (dark), don't be stubborn and listen to the advice the Ifa is giving. Ifa said that you have been a person who liked to be on the streets and to party. That you should be cautious of something shameless in a house that you visit, that you should not cut out (go off) with a friend, because of rumors now that you may find yourself in a bad situation. Don't visit much because in a house that you visit there may be a plot against you, that you may stolen something and that you may even catch a knife, offended by this and disgraced.

Ifa said that if it a man being read, that you have two woman and don't know which one to stay with, that you should be good to both women, that you are always fighting with your wife and This is not good for you. That you may fall in love with another woman who is influenced by an enemy of yours. It said that you know the secrets of someone and that person does not want anything to do with you and that you are looking for fights and problems and this is not good for you. Don't let rain water fall on you, it said that you where once in the hands of death and was saved. That you have a war with someone and that they are throwing all the irons to destroy you, but if you do ebo and follow the road that Orunmila indicates to you, you will have no problems and will win this war. Ifa Verses: Ifa said that right now someone is in great trouble. If his mother is still alive on earth, he should sacrifice to her head; if she is dead, he should sacrifice to her at her grave. They said that Odogbo's riches would be complete during that year. They said he should make a sacrifice; he sacrificed four pigeons, four beads (any kind of beads), two shillings and 80 cowries. He made the sacrifice. They said that when he had finished this sacrifice, he should sacrifice also to his mother. They said that his blessing was to be found at home and that he must not go anywhere. When Odogbo had made the sacrifice and had also made the sacrifice to his mother, he stayed at home for three days; but he did not see anything like a blessing. On the fourth day he got ready and went to the farm to fetch wood, saying that he was not going to starve to death. When he reached the farm, he chopped a good pile of firewood and started back with as much as he could carry. As he was returning, carrying his load, his mother appeared as a bird, and she began to sing: Odogbo throw away your wood; The blessing came to your house while you were gone. When Odogbo heard this, he said that he would carry the wood home anyway. When he reached home and dumped the load of wood to the ground, it's end broke through the ground into a pit of beads. In this way money and wealth came to Odogbo, and he became a rich man. Odogbo bagan to sing; he said it was just as the diviners had predicted when they said: After it is dead we cut up an elephant; After it is dead we cut up a buffalo; After it is prepared we cut up a loaf of pounded yams; child of Stark Naked; Ifa said an evil has pitched its tent in the farm and is waiting for someone. Or else someone wants to go somewhere, perhaps at a distance; evil awaits him where he is going. He should sacrifice before he goes. Ifa said witches will seize someone right now unless he can beg them to change their mind by sacrificing; then perhaps they will not take them away. The diviners said that he should sacrifice that he might find a wife during that year. He sacrificed a basket of peanuts, two hens, and one shilling plus twenty cowries. When he had finished sacrificing, the diviners put aside some of the peanuts for him to plant. When these peanuts were ripe enough to harvest, Orunmila noticed that someone had been stealing them. He thought that a squirrel was digging and eating them, and he began to keep watch over his peanut field. One day as he was watching his peanut field, he saw two maidens. As they entered his peanut field and began to dig, Orunmila came out from where he had been hiding and caught them in the act of stealing his peanuts. The maidens began to beg him to spare them and not to take them as thieves. Orunmila replied that it was in order for him to get a wife that the diviners had told him to plant these peanuts; but if they came and stole them, how would he ever be able to get married? They said that he should spare them; they would rather marry him than to be taken as thieves.

Ifa said the person who is being read said many lies and when he reaches his house he finds out that they are a reality. It said not to speak bad of the Santo or of the Babalawo. It said to offer a mass to a spirit that walks with you so that it may help you to go through life. Since this Ifa belongs to Egun it speaks perfectly of a person that does not realize or completes his things and also speaks of a person who forsakes the saints and the spirits frequently. Ifa said that someone in your family could have hung themselves. It said that you are a diviner by birth, but it is due to a spirit that puts everything on your road. It said not to get wet specially your head. To be careful of traps. Here it speaks of problems of women. Here there has been a marriage offer and not kept and it is not directly with the person but due to problems that do not allow it. Ifa said that your father is dead and you must offer a lamb for his Egun that accompanies to help you and also masses. Until this spirit is elevated. It also said that if your father died you were far away from him, but if he is alive you must take care of him since this Ifa so dictates. This way they will help you from the heavens since there is nothing worse in this world than a father crying in silence and being heard in the heavens because this way you will not be saved. Ifa said do not do favors since the pay is deadly. For the Babalawo to charge well for anything that comes out in this sign. To be careful of enemies that set the trap and betray you. You could have impotent problems. Do not communicate your secrets to nobody. To say maferefun my mother. That she accompanies you and with her thoughts gives you her blessing and protection. Ifa said that you have tried to commit suicide and if not you have thought about it. It said not to go to the river under any circumstances. That you have two women. It said not to get upset or feel trapped. That with time you will go over these difficulties. It said that your enemies work below you. That you have business with people that envy you. Be careful of treason. Do not abuse your nature and eat well. Ifa said that if it is a man being read you must abandon some of the women and dedicate your time to fixing your life. It said that you have come to test the Babalawo to see if he knows. It said to immediately offer roosters to Eshu Elegua. It said that you must Receive Orunmila since you were born for this. That if someone is fighting do not try to separate them. Let someone else do it because you can be hit or wounded in the process. It said that

they are going to blow powders on your back. Ifa said that you see the enemies in your dreams or will see them. Do not fight with your husband since it is not convenient for you. There is a person who is courting you to see well what you are planning to do because to see well what you are planning to do because you could even go to prison. Do not drink alcoholic beverages so that your enemies can win over you. You must find out of Osun wants something. It said that they killed your father because he knew too much. Ifa said there is a pregnant woman that you must give things to do and watch her stomach of sickness. Do not become impatient. With time you will win over your enemies and god will compensate you. If you dreamed with a dead family member it is because they are asking for spiritual help. It speaks of a dead person who had received saint and the saint is buried next to a well. Go look for it. This saint belongs to you. Do not work with a light hitting you directly in the face because you will start to lose your vision slowly. Ifa Verses: Ifa said someone has forgotten his father and that if he does not take care of his father there will be no one on earth to take care of him. One ram and three shillings six pence is the sacrifice. When this sacrifice has been made, this person should go and sacrifice the ram to his father; but if the father is still alive, he should sacrifice the ram to his father's head so that the way to success may be clear for him. Something of the person concerned will spoil completely if he does not take care of his father, whether he is on earth or in heaven. Ifa said this is a wife of Ifa, if she is not given to Ifa, she will die. And then there is a woman who will bear many children if she is able to sacrifice. This is a woman who is a wife of Ifa; she will bear children if she is able to sacrifice five hens and two shillings six pence. When she has completed the sacrifice, she should begin to rub the house of Ifa; then things will be easy for her. Ifa said that we will find a blessing in the thing for which we cast this figure. Ifa said that during this year the god of iron will show us a way to make a profit. Ifa said that he sees the blessing of people and the blessing of wives for the person who cast this figure. Two hens, ten kola nuts, and nine pence six oninis is the sacrifice. We will wrap the kola nuts in hoe leaves; we will sacrifice one each day, at dawn, to his head. Ifa said that this person should offer sacrifice because of his bride-to-be, that death should not come to her just as she is about to become his wife, and the money he has given as a dowery will be lost. And then we should sacrifice for a girl lest she die during this very year. Ebo: 1 machete, 1 obuko, asho ara, 1 akuko and owo. Ebo: 1 akuko, 7 stones and opolopo owo. Ifa said that in this moment there is a lot of confusion in your house. That you are envied very much, in your house a pregnant woman whose husband owes a lot, tell him to stop because death is behind. It said that if someone calls you do not turn around. There is person who going gossip to your house, do not pay attention because it will you consequence. Ifa said to play the lottery and buy tickets in three different locations and you shall win. It said to offer fresh meat to feed Ogun and Ochosi. Do not eat red beans or pinto beans. That they are going to put a piece if feces in the corner of your house. That you are running away from justice. They saw you but they did not recognize you. You must do a necklace of red beans that reaches your navel and offer a rooster to Eshu and leave the necklace in front of a church after seven days of using it. It said to pay attention to what is being told since you do not follow advice. Ifa said that you are going to travel but before you do you must do rogation so that things come out well since you will be offered a management position. But you must do ebo. You have or will have a male son that you will have to watch carefully over through Orunmila because you could lose him before it is time. But if you follow Orunmila's advice you will have no problems. Ifa Verses: Ifa said that we are going to do some business or that we want to do some work; we should sacrifice that the Sky God may lead us to money. Ifa said there is someone; he said he will not allow him to be disgraced. He said that if he should be disgraced, his spiritual double in heaven will aid him, and the secret which he has brought from the presence of sky god will remain covered. Ifa said that this is someone who will bear a child, but she should sacrifice lest her children become enemies soon afterwards. Ifa said that he sees a blessing for someone beyond the town wall. He said lots of money will come to this person from there. Because while the tree may shed its leaves, and the liana may shed its leaves, for the palm tree to shed its leaves is very difficult. He said we should sacrifice four rats, four fish, some loose beans, four white pigeons, and four shillings six pence. Ebo: Akuko meta, eure dudu kan, asho ara re, opolopo owo. Ifa said to the person that this odu comes out if it is a man he must do Ifa , and dedicate himself to it completely and if it is a woman she should receive Kofa and dedicate herself to serving Orunmila. It is very possible that this woman would marry a Babalawo. Ifa said here it speaks of complete treason. It can as well be with a partner as with a friend. Here it also speaks that the person being read is planning to make a trip or make a move to another location seeking wealth. But before this is done you must do ebo so that treason does not follow and then see yourself without nothing. Ifa said it said that you are feeling slightly diabolic. That the Egun follow you to cause you harm. You must do things to elevate them. Aside for the fact that you have good protection on your spiritual side that this is not sufficient help if you do not do what is said here. Ifa said: that you have two men and you want to pacify one of them. It said that you are a very romantic woman but you must be careful of playing in two different locations since your legitimate husband is watching. Be careful of complications or problems due to this. You are planning to go to a place for a loving relation, but be careful for it will be discovered. Ifa said: that you have a bad life. That you suffer from the stomach and chest. Take and respect your father if he is alive and if he is dead make sure that you offer him masses. It said to get close to Elegua and Ogun so that they in union with Orunmila can help you come out of all your bad problems. It said that they want to throw you out so that you go through many complications. Ifa said: it said to feed a deceased person and pay attention to something that they left for you to do. Take care of your Santo and you must do head rogation for it is hot right now. It said not to go to dances or trips for right now. It said that they envy you for your character. It said to attend your house and correspond to your husband who is having financial problems. It said to refresh and meditate your things well before you do them. Ifa said: one of your elders is upset with you. Pass your hand so that they may continue to give you their protection and they will not turn their back on you. You have always depended on this Person. It said that Ogun is claiming something. It said that you will reach a high position. That for the war that you now have to do things with consistency to Shango and put them for six days and in your back yard put an alamo leaf with oti and play to him the achere every day for six days. Ifa said: that you are not well financially, but there will come a time when you will have sufficient

money and live well. That if you do not have children you will have them through Ifa but you will have to do many jobs at the foot of Ifa . Be obedient to what you are being told and you will see that your things will fall in place. It said in this Ifa the person could be a foreigner and they want to hurt them in their job so they may be fired. Ifa Verses: At one time Orunmila befriended Elephant and went to the forest with him. They did any kind of work to get money, but Orunmila was not as powerful as Elephant and could not endure the hardships as well. They worked in the forest for three months and three years; but when they returned, Orunmila had earned only enough money to buy one white cloth. On their way home, Orunmila asked Elephant to hold the cloth while he went into the bush to relieve himself. Elephant did; but when Orunmila had returned, Elephant had swallowed it. When Orunmila asked for it, Elephant denied he had ever been given it. A great dispute arose between them and continued as they walked along the road. Finally they came to the crossroads, where they parted, Orunmila going on the road to Ado without his cloth, and Elephant going to Alo. On the road to Ado Orunmila met Hunter, who said he was going to hunt elephants. Orunmila told him that he knew where he could find an elephant, and directed him along the road to Alo. He said he would meet an elephant and kill it, and that when he cut it open, he would find a white cloth, which he should bring back to him. Hunter went along the road, met Elephant and killed him. When he cut Elephant open, he found a white cloth inside. He returned the cloth, with an elephant's tusk as a gift, to Orunmila. Since that time, because of the falsehood of Elephant, Orunmila and the Babalawo use the tusk of an elephant as Irofa. And since that time any hunter who kills an elephant must take the ala to the Babalawo. Ebo: Eyele melli, ayebo-adie melli, ati egbaji owo. Ifa said: it said that person being read suffers lately ultimately of frigidness or impotency. It said that you have not had sex abundantly and this is due to witchcraft which has been done so that this would happen. Ifa said: that there is an internal fight in the family that is coming that ebo must be done so that things do not reach an extreme. To put to Elegua, root vegetables that are raw so that your road may be open. In this Odu speaks of tragedy in the marriage. It speaks of adultery in which you and your husband have been offended. Here it speaks of children from different mothers. Ifa said: that the person being read has internal problems. The person here is bold and wants to cheat the Babalawo. It said that this person must have extreme care in the mouth hygiene since it speaks of loss of teeth and this could accelerate the disease of the stomach. Ifa said: that you have to change your character or you will loose everything in life including your own life. In this Ifa one must change radically and be grateful for the life that we have and smile to it since this is what our destiny has marked. Control your temper since it doesn't attribute anything good. Ifa said: that you have children with different fathers. To be grateful to Yemaya that watches you. To avoid getting upset since this could bring an excess amount of blood to your head therefore causing a stroke leaving you paralyzed or causing your death. Ifa said: do not lift your hand to any woman or try to rip off her clothes because later you will have regrets. Do not cross the ocean. First you must be read with Ifa. Be careful with justice problems. Ifa says that if someone comes to sell you lottery tickets to buy them and if they bring them to your front door even better. It said that your enemies laughed at you because they see you falling, but not to worry that if you fall Orunmila will make sure that it is you who laughs last. It said that you came to be read with ideas toward another person. That if there are children in your house to watch them so that something does not happen. Ifa said: that you suffer from circulatory problems of infections on the skin. Boils or pimples. You also suffer from the stomach. They have done witchcraft on the front door of your house. Do not take anything that does not belong to you because you could be accused of stealing. Do not eat leftovers since it brings you bad delays. This person must have something done with a tongue of a bull. One chicken in a hole so that the person may go forth. Ifa Verses: Ifa said that we should not fight. A man should sacrifice so that his relatives will not injure him during a fight. And someones penis is setting his dates for him, and he is troubled because he has no children. He should sacrifice to a deity so that the deity may give him a child. The

Ifa said: here it speaks of a person that constantly has numbness or pain in the joints same as air in the chest or back. You also must watch your eyesight. You should constantly be checking your eyes because they get very red and tear. You probably need to use eyeglasses. It said that if you have a dog to take care of him because he may save your life where one day they might come to hurt you. Ifa said: not to run and that if there are problems in your house do not become involved. To be careful with falling. It said that you killed something then covered it. It said that you are a medium but you are missing a very important factor and that is a shrine inside your house and one outside the house in the back yard where the stars are. Ifa said: that you must be careful with justice so that you do not go to prison. It could be by mistake or by taking something that is not yours. That you are to blame for what has happened and for what is happening because you are very disobedient and do not care. You must be careful of being accused of stealing or of dirty business. Ifa said: do not have arguments with your spouse since it is not convenient for you. If it is a man you are tied by your wife and if it is a woman you must tie your husband. Ifa said: that you were very alert during your youth. You have ache of Orunmila since you are his omo directly from the heavens. Ifa said: that if you hear a conversation do not become involved, it does not matter what they speak. The first to come must do ebo because he will become sick. In your house there is an Egun that turns things around. This is why you are having difficulties. Try to and find out what this deceased person wants so that he may stop bothering you. You must ask Orunmila what to do. Ifa Verses: Ifa said someone is going to a distant place; he should sacrifice lest he be taken as a thief at the place to which he is going. He said you should sacrifice one gbaguda knife with its sheath, some fallen kola still in the pod, two hens, two rats, two fish, and one shilling one penny two oninis so that he would not be taken as a thief. Ifa said there is someone whom, when he stretches his hands to do something, Ifa does not allow to see his work come to a successful conclusion. Ifa is fighting with this person, therefore he should sacrifice to Ifa and also take care of a set of palm nuts. Ifa said that he will spoil

If he does so, then his affairs will be set in order and will reach a successful conclusion. After all the children born to him have died, Ifa will set his destiny in order, if he is able to take care of the Ifa and to sacrifice to it. Ifa said there is someone who wants to go to a distant place; at that place the sky god will give him many possessions and he will be king over the people there. Odu Ifa Moluo, Ogbe Oyecu to Ogbe Ofun

Last Updated Tuesday, 16 December 2008 10:29

But the God of the Sky, continues to give you his blessing. In this Ifa it is likely that the Awo will separate from the Oluo, This is the Ifa where Oddua called together all the townspeople to verify the ebo that was to be done to celebrate the new Name. This is where OgbeAte abandoned Ifa in the river, and later retrieved it with an Eba that Orumila marked for him inside a fish. The son of this Ifa grows up with little adult supervision. It is forbidden in this Ifa, that the Awo place his desire on any married women, particularly any women who are active within a religion. A great deal of meditation, contemplation and philosophy is needed to solve the riddle of this Ifa Ordu. The Awo could use a strong character to be able to decline the temptation that he will experience. Because the gods favor you, and show their attention. The forces of the evil ones are always ready to tempt you into disgrace. You must give up all things that could cause an addiction. You must receive the Knife and Essence of the Creator. Ifa Says: That if this is a man, he likes to look at other women, that you like to drink and be the center of attention. That you can be merchant That you like to party and have a real good time. But you will always have problems brought to you by the women in your life. They will cause many a headache. That you are possible a son of Odduwa or Obatala, these orisha are with you, and have benefited you in the past. Particular in financial matters. Ifa Says: That you could be the spiritual son of Oddua or Obatala, these orisha have helped you in the past, particularly in financial matters. This ordun mentions that you have been raised away from the supervision of your father. You have practically been raised by other adult figures. Or it may be that you have been at odds with him, if this is so then go to him and give him some sort of satisfaction. If he is past, offer him a prayer and a mass in his name, ask for his blessing everyday. Ifa Says: That it is possible that you will separate and go a different path than your Oluo, but try by all means to keep that from occurring. The Awo must also take care never to renounce Ifa. Not to be disrespectful to Orumila and never to sleep with his female followers. Ogbe Ate must take care not to go from King to Slave. This Amo has or should have Oddudua and Olofi, if it is a women, she speaks badly of her lovers, and this will become known. There is a pending promise given to Shango, that has not been kept. Ifa Says: The person being read, has Ocha, or knows something about them. A male child may have a path to Ifa. The friends you think you have are not real. Your real friends you cast aside. (this is incomplete) This is where Ogbedande was betrayed by Oberekuntele

In the land of Guere fun fun There where two Awo of Ifa, they were twins and both had the same ordun Ogbe Irete. one was called Ogbedande and the other Oberekuntele, both were dedicated to the cult of Ifa and Osain and they had many godson between the two of them but Ogbedande was always considered the most gifted because of his knowledge and recognized abilities, and this causes an envy to form in the heart of Oberekuntele He began to think about how to betray his brother. Ogbedande was not distrustful of Oberekuntele and shared his secrets and plans with him. including where he kept his Ifa Ikin. Oberekuntele made Osain magic which changed him into the form of a mouse, he then went to the home of Ogbedande and was able to observe and discover the hiding place for the ikini of OgbeDande, this mouse started to replace the odara (good) Ikin, with Ikini that had become ofo (bad). The Ikini odara the mouse then took to the river and threw them into the water one by one, Iyalorde was out at the river that day, and saw the Ikini fall. She picked them up and kept each one. Ogbedande began to lose his mind, his Ifa was Ofo, he lived with Yemaya at that time and while she was asleep he saw an appearance of his father who told him of the treason that Oberekuntele had done. Then Yemaya said to Ogbedande, I will make right this treason at the waters edge, Then she tricked Oberekuntele, telling him he was about to learn a great secret. When they got to the shore, Yemaya began to sing... "Awo leko Oberekuntele eni meyi kofo ofo aleko leya." Oberekuntele when he hears this and realizes they have uncovered his treason, Oberekuntele trys to escape by becoming an ekutele (mouse), but Yemaya hits him and he drowns in the sea. Then in front of Orunla and Olofin she cut off his head and I kept it to make Aboteku that is the Aboran that Ogbedande uses when he makes ebo with two ardie dun dun at the house of Iyalorde, to recover his odara Ikin. Note: this Ifa has a great deal to do with the human psyche, Ogbedande and Oberekuntele are one same one. Twins in spirit within a single body. Ogbedande must fight against himself, and keep from sabotaging himself throughout his life. In Yoruba, Oberekuntele means; Obe, that that has the figure of the mouse. Another Ifa Story : Ogbe-Ate was a Awo that was very disobedient, Orunmila would ask him for different things from time to time through Ifa readings, Because of his manner he attracted enemies, aside from those that envied him his abilities in Ifa. The Ache which with he dealt with life, and how fortunate he seemed to be. There came a day when Orumila surprised Ogbe-Ate, just the day before Orumila had asked

him to perform a rogacion, This day Ifa asked for a fish to be given to Ogbe-Ates head. He went out to the river, to catch the fish for his Ifa, as he began to have trouble, Ogbe-Ate grew increasingly frustrated, he then grabbed his Ikin and threw them all into the water. At this time, several women had gone out to the river to wash their clothes, they saw out of the corner of their eyes, Ogbe-Ate throwing something into the water. Some of the women went out and told the guards they had seen someone threw garbage into the water. This caused the guards to set out and find Ogbe-Ate. Before the guards could catch Ogbe-Ate, he realized just what he had done, and he began to plead and beg Orumila for forgiveness. Ogbe-Ate sat at the edge of the river, and began to invoke Orumila. As the guards approached, they found him using his fingers to draw an Ate in the mud, and using river rocks, to cats the Ordun. Ogbe-Ate told the guards, that he was a diviner, and had just begun to cast Ifa, could they please wait a moment while he finished his work. The guards curious, and never having seen a Babalawo, wanted to give him the time. Ogbe-Ate used the moment, to tell each one a little about themselves, to one he said You have a female goat tied up to the rear door of home to the other he said You have a moody hen, you need to bring her to do Ebo Having heard the words of Ifa the guards grew leary of arresting him, and instead excused themselves and left. After the guards had left, Ogbe-Ate once again threw himself on the shore and begged Ifa for forgiveness, he then remembered the fish Ifa had asked for, and having spent some time, finally caught one for his Ifa and offered the rogation. Upon opening the fish, Ogbe-Ate found inside all of his Ikin. ******************************************************************* The wife of the Moyubero was consulting Ifa, one day her husband went to the home of Orumila and asked him about his wife. Orumila had her hidden behind the door that faced the street. The Moyubero asked that Orumila consult Ifa for him. Orumila cast Ifa, and Ifa said that the Moyubero needed to make an ebo with 3 rats. With that the Moyumbero took the three out of a bag that he had with him. The rats scurried about Orumilas home. Orumila asked the Moyumbero to catch the rats, and as he ran around, the Moyumbero discovered his wife, He then insulted and struck Orumila. Orumila then cursed the Moyumbero and changed him into a goat. Several days later, Orumila cast Ifa for the King, Olofi. And Orumila told him that he needed to do ebo with a large goat. The king sent his men to the forest, and found a large goat, brought him back to Orumila for the Ebo. Orumila could see that it was the goat that had once been the Moyumbero, but Orumila looked away when the goat, unable to speak, due to the rope around his mouth, pleaded with Orumila with his eyes. The goat was offered as a sacrifice. *********************************************************************************** There were two lands, seperated by a wide river, the inhabitants of one side a warriors, and on the other side the people are more peaceful. One day the warriors asked the King of the peaceful people for quantities of grain and feed, oil that they needed. The King of the peaceful people told the warrior king that he could not give them what they asked for, since it was not just his food but the food of all the people. The warrior King said if he

was not given what he had asked for then there would be war. Since the peaceful people did not even have weapons, they feared so much that some went to see Orunmila. But they could not find him in his home, as Orunmila was returning those women that had sought his help beseched him so much for help that Orunmila had to say, I did not bring with me the items I need to divine for you, and give you proper advice. This in spite of the fact that Orunmila always tries to help women. The women continued to ask for his help, since they feared for their lives or of becoming prisoners of the warrior tribe. So Orunmila picked up 21 rocks from the ground and asked for 2 dark colored hens. With these he would give an offering to Oshun at the rivers edge. But the women answered that they did not have 2 hens to give him. One of the women said he had 2 hens at her home, but they are brooding hens. Orunmila told her to go and fetch the hens, and quickly made an offering to the river. When the warriors tribe decided to attack, it began torain so heavely that the river flooded with great force. This happened at the time when the warrior tribe was at the lower end of the river, They had been caught unware and many of them drowned, and the others became disoriented and did not know where to go. The women of the peaceful tribe began to attack the warriors with sticks and rocks, and other farm impliments. They took advantage of the situation and won the war against the warrior tribe. And if it is a woman that is being read do not stick your nose where it doesn't belong because you could have a problem. Ifa said: that you are envied very much and you are looked at with eagle eyes in the things that you do. That you should wear an African Gray parrots red feather so that the evil with which you are looked at can turn in to good. You are forsaken with people's eyes. You should always try and wear a heat because they will try and throw powders at your back and by wearing a hat you will cover your head which is the most important part. Ifa said: that you are lucky because the heavens send it to you. The things that happen to you are because you abandon and do not do the things that you are told. You must become close with Ifa so that he can guide you. You must feed Elegua so that he opens the road for you by order of Olofi Ifa said: that there is money coming your way but when it arrives you must save it so that you can later bring it to do rogation with so that you do not lose it all. The money will come if you do what you are told, you had a bad dream recently which you vaguely remember and in this dream you were invited to a dinner with many people. What this dream means is that your enemies will throw something so that you will lose everything. Ifa said: that you suffer with pain in your legs and the majority of the time you are saddened. You must put music in your house so there is happiness in there. Do not take things so strongly as that makes you sick. They are going to invite you to a dinner, but you must be careful since they want to put something in your food. If you can don't go. If you do make an excuse not to eat. Ifa said: there is a person you know that by them looking at you brings you problems since they have evil eye and envy toward you. You must do rogation without loss of time. If you do rogation you will have work in abundance. It said that if you are a man you must be careful with a married woman because the husband can and will surprise you and there can be a tragedy. If it is a woman you must be careful of having two men because the true one will surprise you and you will pay for it dearly.

Ifa said: you are planning to move to a bigger house and possibly travel. You are to collect an inheritance of substantial amount. It said that this is in the country. Do not hold grudges. That if your clothes is stained do not get upset, and change them without complaint. Do not offer anything you can not keep. You will do a favor to a person who will hate you in return. In this day you have been crying because of a woman but it said that you have a very hard head. Ifa Verses: When Odua was king of Ife, Olokun the Sea goddess was his wife, and Orunmila was her lover. Orunmila consulted the diviners to learn what he should do so that Odua would not catch him with his wife. The diviner told him to sacrifice a pigeon, a fowl, camwood, chalk and charcoal. They took a knife and cut three incisions in his skin, rubbing one of the three powders into each of the cuts. Then they told him he could continue to sleep with Olokun without fearing anything. One day Orunmila and Olokun overslept, and Odua came upon them at dawn. but Eshu, to whom the sacrifice had been made, came to Orunmila's aid; he spoiled Odua's eyesight, so that Odua thought Orunmila was a leopard. Odua ran away in fright, and Orunmila returned home safely. Orunmila began to praise the diviners who had protected them, saying that what they had said had come true. After that, as long as he lived, he spotted himself annually like a leopard; and since his time, Araba has done the same Ebo: Aure melli, akuko melli, opolopo owo.
