What areas of strength do you

see?

Jason is has excellent organizational skills. His planning is thorough, and his lessons are engaging for his students. He integrates technology with ease into any curricular area. Perhaps his biggest strength is his

exceptional classroom management. He understands the necessity of providing children with structure and setting expectations, and he follows through with quiet compassion and kindness. I have seen children in great difficulty respond very positively to his gentle but firm approach.

What areas need attention? There are none that I or Mrs. Charlton can see. Jason continually evaluates and reflects on his actions as a teacher; he is also open to any kind of constructive feedback, always looking to improve and refine his
skills.

Further comments:
Both the class and the cooperating teacher enjoyed having Jason in the class, and hated to see him leave!

B.Ed. Field Placement Supemisor Comments: Jason's planning has been thorough and comprehensive. His objectives are clear; he works hard to select activities that are interactive and interesting to his students. During his time in this class, Jason taught a unit on poetry. The class was rather reticent about the subject matter at first, but at the end they were excited to hold a "poetry slam" event, to which they invited their parents! Jason quickly establishes a lovely rapport with students; not only are they comfortable approaching him with questions or requests for help; they love just chatting with him. He communicates expectations clearly, and makes transitions easily from activity to activity. In dealing with individual behaviour problems he is both sensitive and firm. His approach to discipline is very respectful of the individual. I have observed children with learning disabilities and emotional problems respond in a positive way to

life of this school: he ran an after-school math help "club" once momings and lunch recesses providing extra help to those students that felt they needed it. Because of his comfort with technology, the principal asked him to give the teachers a professional development session on using POV (point of view) cameras in their teaching. Even though the internship is officially over, he continues to do volunteer work at this school. He truly goes beyond
