Growing and thriving in an enriching environment A focus group was created following the initial working groups to establish the messaging of the HRB Talent Management Approach. The result of these discussions is this HRB Talent Management logo and motto. Employees were invited to participate in a focus group and encouraged to share their ideas about the principles of talent management. As a result, we were able to consider many opinions in the development of the program objectives in creating an approach that meets the needs of the organization as well as the developmental needs and preferences of the individual. The group collaborated to determine that talent management in HRB should reflect the following principles: Flexibility Mbbility

Investing in People Mutual Ownership of Personal Developrnent Regular, systematic assessment of talent within HRB Rigorous performance management within HRB
The realization of these principles prompted the group to choose the the Talent Tree as the togo. The Talent Tree represents an organic, yet structured design that emphasizes the principles of progression, mobility and flexibility, while reminding us that we are all working and developing together and within the larger organization. The design suggests a multitude of possibilities, representing the different paths and outcomes of development that the HRB Talent Management

Approach supports. The origin of the logo is also symbolic: the discussions and consultations that took place demonstrate HRB's commitment to increasing communication between management and HRB employees in terms of talent management and development,"and it was designed in house, as a devefopment pr{ect for an employee with a special interest in art. '
