Communication in Nursing : A Systematic Review Abstract Background Communication is considered as a fundamental element of each level in nursing service practice.

It contributes an essential point in improving health service quality, patient satisfaction, and patient discipline on treatment recommendation. Nurses have to comprehend perception distinction between a nurse and a patient, and they have to develop strategies to reduce obstacles in communication. Purpose This study aims to present a systemic review based on the meaning creates from communication which is used by nurses in nursing service practice. Method The information is quoted from some studies. Literature of systemic review is find out by electronic database such as : CINAHL, ProQuest, EBSCO and Springerlink. It started in September and ended in November 2012. Result This systemic review used 10 relevance articles which were in accordance with criteria inclusion. Reviewer found that majority studies in those articles conducted in many countries in United States, a few in Britain, Iran and Australia. Some factors generally influenced communication in nursing, they are nurse variable, patient variable and environment/situation variable. Disscusion This systemic review try to figure a deeper description about communication in nursing. Communication is an integral part of each profession, education, and society generally. Conclusion communication is the most essential kind in nursing service. So many studies on communication have been conducted aimed to perform a good quality of nursing service, improving patients satisfaction and patients disciple in treatment recommendation. The importance of communication in performing a safe and good quality of health service is clearly needed to convince nurses so they have to prepare their selves and their communication skill. . Implication This systemic review discussed about communication in nursing, It is suggested to nursing manager and nurse on duty to reflect communication in nursing in their daily working practices.
