To illustrate the rising price of healthy food, the Sun visited five grocery stores located within a 1 km radius to compare prices on ten select items that are also part of the Ottawa Public Health Nutritious Food Basket survey. Included is the average price, as determined by OPH in the 2011 survey, along with the percentage of increase or decline in food prices, as well as the current price for each item at five local supermarkets.
