Playing Rules Playing Field

The playing court is 34m long by 20m wide. Boston Pizza SportsWorld will supply each league with balls. Balls that become old and not useable will be replaced by the Boston Pizza. Each night teams will receive the appropriate amount of balls needed and they will be replaced accordingly throughout the season. Each ball costs $60.00, so please do not remove them from our facility. If your team looses or destroys Boston Pizza property they will be charged for the expense. Boston Pizza SportsWorld will be written on each ball, so there should be no mistake as to which balls belong to the facility.

Scoring System
Rally Point Scoring: A format of scoring where points can be won by the team who won the rally regardless of which team that served the ball. Score is kept until a call is given after 30 minutes. Once the call is givens, if the ball is still in play, teams will continue until the point is made. There will be no cap of scoring to determine the winning team. Tie games after the buzzer are final. There will be a five minute relocation period where teams can change courts.

Net Play
If you need to make a play to step underneath the net which does not interfere with the opposing team, you may step 1 foot over the imaginary line underneath the net. If you make contact with an opposing team member while making an attempt for the ball, the play is dead and the point will be awarded to the opposing team. The ball can contact any part of the net between the antennas provided. Any part of the net outside the antennas the ball makes contact with is dead. If a ball has been shanked into another court and if a player is still able to make an attempt to play the ball without interfering with another team, they are able to do so to bring the ball back onto their court. If a ball has landed in the court beside yours, please call Ball in Court to ensure everyones safety and that the play is dead. The court that the ball has landed in will be re-served. Any person that touches the net regardless of the play will be dead. The team that has touched the net will lose that rally point. A serve hitting the net and clearing the net is considered in play.
