In light of the media interest in the charge against her, we are releasing the following statement. Ms. Shannon Everett is a young yoga teacher and multimedia developer who has had no prior involvement with the police. We are surprised by Mayor Fords decision to comment on the case repeatedly outside the judicial forum. This is most unfortunate. The Mayor should allow Ms. Everett to have her day in court, where we will vigorously defend the charge against her and a court of law will have the full opportunity to assess Mayor Fords credibility. We have made all the appropriate disclosure requests. Since the matter is now before the court, this is the only statement that Ms. Everett or her counsel will be making.
