Educational Game & Simulation Evaluation Discussion

1. How do you see using this game or simulation being used in the classroom? 2.

See evaluation posted in Edmodo. This simulation would be used to support reading, comprehension and increased knowledge in the area of art appreciation. It also supports learning about master artists and the elements of art as applied by the master artists. Students work through a simulation trying to locate a missing piece of art. As they work through this simulation they read about a variety of master artists and view their artwork. The students use and apply the knowledge gained in the process to determine the artists and techniques used in the painting.

3. What would be the value of using this game or simulation as a learning tool?

See evaluation posted in Edmodo. This simulations supports reading, comprehension, analysis and evaluation of the content read. Students learn about master artists, the elements of art used by the master artist and time period of various artists. They also learn art terminology and concepts such as composition, style, or subject. I would like to see more simulations added to this website. It won awards in early 2000, so it is not as interactive as the games today but does provide an avenue in which to explore art history.
