ABSTRACT: Foliar diseases occurred in seed production plot of French bean in different months was scored and seeds were evaluated for its quality. Foliar diseases viz. rust and anthracnose and seed mycoflora infection was maximum in September 15th sown crop, followed by august 15th and October 15th sown crop. Foliar diseases were nil and seed mycoflora was least in November 15th sown crop. Among two varieties Arka Komal was more proven to foliar diseases and seed mycoflora infection compared to Burpee stringless. In present investigation species of Collatotrichum sp., Macrophomina phaseolina, Aspergillus spp., were found associated with French bean seeds. Although late sown crops gave higher germination and healthy seeds, there was drastic reduction in seed yield and September 15th sowing found to be ideal for obtaining economical seed yield with proper management of diseases.
