Psa 24:1 A Psalm of David.

The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, Psa 24:2 for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. Psa 24:3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place? Psa 24:4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully. Psa 24:5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psa 24:6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah. Psa 24:7 Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Psa 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle! Psa 24:9 Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Psa 24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah. ANCIENT GATES Let the ancient gates be opened wide, For the King of Glory to enter in, The Lord of hosts, he is the King, And he is strong and mighty. The whole earth belongs to him. He is the creator of all living things, He established the seas and the rivers, And he beckons us to come hither, With clean hands and pure hearts, Free from falsehood and deceit, We now ascend the hill of the Lord, Standing firm in that holy place with the Lord. And we give him all the praise, For he alone is worthy of our praise, We give him thanks for our blessings, And most of all our salvation. Early in the morning we will seek the Lord, As night falls we seek his face, And we will pay attention to his precious Word, Finding him in the secret place. We give praise to the King of Glory, Giving him all the Glory, He is the Lord of Hosts, He is our God, All praise honour and glory be unto our triune God. Irene McGough 2013
