Subiect + had + Vb.la forma a III-a (terminatia "-ed" pentru verbele regulate) He had cleaned the room before his mother came home.

Negativ:
Subiect + had + not (hadnt) + Vb. La forma a III-a sau ed (vb. regulate) He hadnt cleaned the room before his mother came home.

Interogativ:
Had + Subiect + Vb. la forma a III-a sau n ed (vb. regulate) Had he cleaned the room before his mother came home?

Past Perfect Continuous Tense

-exprim o aciune continu naintea unei aciuni situate n trecut

Afirmativ: Subiect + had +been + Verbul la infinitiv + terminatia "-ing"

We had been walking for two hours when we saw a lake in the distance.

Negativ: Subiect had + not + been + Verbul la infinitiv + terminatia "-ing"

We hadnt been walking for two hours when we saw a lake in the distance

Interogativ: Had+ Subiect + been + Verbul la infinitiv + terminatia "-ing"
