Standard 4 A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and

community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources. 4-1 Incorporate information about family and community expectations into school decision-making and activities. 4-2 Recognize the goals and aspirations of diverse family and community groups. 4-3 Treat diverse community stakeholder groups with fairness and with respect. 4-4 Support the equitable success of all students and all subgroups of students through the mobilization and leveraging of community support services. 4-5 Strengthen the school through the establishment of community, business, institutional, and civic partnerships. 4-6 Communicate information about the school on a regular and predictable basis through a variety of media and modes.

There is another fundraiser that I do called Pie-in-the-Face. Collaborating with Parent Council to attain needed supplies Facilitated parent conferences to discuss goals for students Conducted parent orientation to help get parents familiar with the culture of the classroom and the school We reached out to major corporations and asked for donations of prizes. Met with parent council to establish the volunteer list for the day. We also contacted our local radio station to come and join us on the day. Created flyers and pledge forms that were distributed to families. Student created posters placed around campus as constant reminders for families. Meeting with volunteers and teachers to reflect on how we can improve our practices Participated in community forum (school site council) to discuss school issues Interviewed a few parent about their involvement at our school and how can we improve home-school relations Interviewed parent center director to better understand culture and values of families at our school and suggestions for improving school-home relations Handled parents with complaints and elicited parent feedback on satisfaction that complaints were resolved. Working on building a relationship with community store Fresh and Easy to help us motivate our parents for a better eating lifestyle. Participated in the hiring process for a new instructional aide Analyzed test results for various teachers using our computer program Data Director Used the web to collect school data for the past six years and made a graphic presentation for a course Coordinated displays and hall-way bulletin boards Made a presentation before Parent Council to discuss fundraising ideas and protocols
