RE: Commission's Requests for Briefing by the FBI

Dear Mr. Marcus:

Please allow this letter to confirm that the following briefings have been
scheduled:

Monday July 7, 2003 at l:00pm - Terrorist Financing Operations Section


overview. This briefing will supplement the FBI's response to Document Request
5-10,

• Tuesday July 15, 2003: 9am -12pm - Briefing on FBI changes since September
11, 2001. This briefing will be in response to Briefing Request No. 1.

• July 11, 2003: - Briefing Request No. 2: Hijacker finances. Based upon discussions
with the Commission staff, this will be an initial response to document request 5-13.
(Scheduling tentative).

Additionally, the FBI is prepared to brief the Commission on the following:

• Efforts and results of investigation of allegations of security manipulation (i.e.


short sales of stock, etc) — date to be set.

These briefings are in addition to the briefings previously provided, including:

• May 23,2003: Staff Briefing: PENTTBOM Overview;

• May 23, 2003: Staff Briefing: Designated Sensitive Material;
