Emotional intelligence (EI) describes the ability, capacity, skill or, in the case of the trait. Emotional intelligence represents an ability to validly reason with emotions and to use emotions to enhance thought.

Characteristics of self regulation are: Thoughtfulness, Comfort with change, Integrity and the Ability to say NO.
MOTIVATION
Be highly motivated. Be highly productive, love challenges, and be very effective in whatever you do. Be willing to defer immediate results for long term success.
EMPATHY
Empathy is the ability to identify with and understand the wants, needs, and viewpoints of those around you. Be good at recognizing the feelings of others, even when those feelings may not be obvious. Avoid stereotyping and judging too quickly.
