General guidelines for the application of tapes

Requirements to substrate/backing:
free of dust without grease/oil dry

During application, the following


products should not be used: talc silicone spray release agents hand cream

Adhesive tapes shall always be converted from the roll

Do not store tape parts.

Do not touch tape ends with (oily) fingers!

Always use the roll close to the harness

Do not make a loose JOJO-winding.

A tight, regular winding with a final triple winding on the tapes backing is perfect.

Do not cut the tape too far, but ...

always very close to the harness!

A diagonal cut end is easier to fix

Cut the tape with an angle of approx. 45 .

Important: short and tight pressure!

The final winding must be fixed with a short but strong thumb-pressure

Never stick the tape ends diagonally on the harness, but ...

... with a triple winding on its own backing.

If during application threads loosen at the tapes edges, please cut them off and continue the wrapping process.

Thick tapes need special attention:

The final winding of thick tapes like Coroplast 833 MPX or Coroplast 834 MPX should be fixed with an appropriate tape, e.g. Coroplast 837X or Coroplast 317.
