If the planet is well placed in your chart, then, the results will be beneficial else it may cause some struggles in life. The list below shows the correct order in which Mahadasha occurs and how long a planet stays in power. Sun Moon Mars Rahu Jupiter Saturn Mercury Ketu Venus 6 years 10 years 7 years 16 years 16 years 19 years 17 years 7 years 20 years

This order does not mean that everyone starts with Sun Mahadasha. A child may be born in the middle of the Saturn Mahadasha, then after completing the rest of the Saturn cycle, the child will enter into the Mercury Mahadasha and so on.
