Technology 3R Term 3
OUTCOME UT S2.9 Selects and uses a range of equipment, computer-based technology, materials and other resources with developing skill to enhance investigation and design tasks OVERVIEW During Term 3, students will engage and experiment with a range of computer software and applications in activities integrated with other Key Learning Areas, including; English, Mathematics, HSIE and Visual Arts. On a daily basis, 3R will have the opportunity to use classroom computers and participate in whole class and small group activities on the interactive whiteboard and experience multimodal texts, digital texts, short films and podcasts on sites including YouTube, TALE, Animoto and StudyLadder. Students will also be required to make contributions to the class blog on www.edmodo.com.

Week KLA Link Activity 1-3 English/Drama/Visual Students work in small groups to create an Animoto photo-story retelling the dreamtime tale of Arts/Perspectives Warnayarra, The Rainbow Snake. Groups 1-3: experiment with a range of natural and recycled materials (sticks, recycled paper, bark, and cardboard) to create model humpies, windmills and props for set design. Groups 3-4: use digital camera to photograph still frame images of enactments from the story. Group 5: Paint backdrop storm scenes using acrylic on paper. Whole class: sequence and edit photographs on Animoto photo story program. Class present photo story at NAIDOC assembly, week 3. 1 English/Visual Arts Students type and post Haiku poems about Monets Water Lilies series on EdModo. 2 PDHPE In computer labs, students read and agree to digital citizenship agreement then register membership to the 3R blog at www.edmodo.com Students post first message on 3R blog board. Students complete a class poll on EdModo on their preferred activity for class fitness throughout the term.

Personal Development HSIE English (Spelling) Mathematics

Students work in pairs to investigate National Parks (Barrington Tops NP, Kakadu NP, Sydney Harbour NP, Lane Cove NP, The Royal NP and Kosciuzco NP) on allocated websites. They feedback information in larger jigsaw groups and present findings to the class. *Files attached Students complete EdModo quiz on State and National Parks (formative assessment for HSIE) Students work in pairs and then jigsaw groups to investigate the following artworks: The Discus Thrower (also known as Discobolos), Myron, c.450BC Unique Forms of Continuity in Space, Umberto Boccioni Recumbent Figure, Henry Moore The Family, Escobar Marisol Black Venus, Nikki de Saint Phalle *see files attached Students create an Animoto photostory of Willie the Wimp by Anthony Browne with their Kindergarten buddies. Students conduct research on small group for HSIE problem based learning assignment on State and National Parks In computer labs, students log into Spellodrome and complete Spelling Test 2, assigned to all students as a summative assessment for Spelling. During week 10, students will have the opportunity to complete Mathletics activities set for weekly homework. Those students who have already completed set homework tasks will have free choice of Mathematics activities.
