Broken Water Implacable. You run from me like a stream to its wider berth your anger a surprising eddie and purl so soft I am stadled so sharp I cry outI stand alone, imprecise on your dark bank. This time I will not be surprised as I watch you push and lap at the shore, the raia yet unbroken I have come this far to learn the boat does not touch water.

Night does not mean what it once did: sleep, pure, deep unequivocal. Now you are gone.. A child's cry rrars this space and I have only one image of you: black on blackvarnish od water and I hear your soft inflection from the stream: night night, night.

Dark Horse Through the trees I see your shadow. You Are a black horse, strong Full of grace and beautysinister, dark and fleet, varnished, obsidianYour head turns. You have not been ridden. You car4/ no one. You are only a dark horse, a spirit, abstract. My soul, a fix'd foot, makes no show to move. Your power, shadow, lies in your ability to flee.
