Objectives:

1. To draw and analysis the circuit by using the PSpice software program

2. To compare the result between the circuit analysis by PSpice and the circuit

analysis by calculation method

Equipment:

1. Laptop (with PSpice software program)

2. Calculator

Procedures:

1. Determine the circuits that want to analyse.

2. Choose the icon ‘Schematics’ from the folder Microsim Eval 7.1

3. Draw the circuit by following steps :

i. Choose ‘Draw’ from the toolbar

ii. Choose ‘Get New Part’

iii. Write the component’s name in the space ‘Part Name’

iv. Get the desire part and choose ‘Place’

v. Place it on the white space below the toolbar

vi. Arrange the the components, put the desire name and value

vii. Make sure the circuit is well connected and complete, otherwise the circuit

analysis will not happen

4. Analysis the circuit by following step :

i. Put the part name ‘IPROBE’ as ammeter in series of the component and

part name ‘viewpoint’ as voltmeter at every node

ii. Choose ‘Analysis’ from toolbar and choose ‘Simulate’

iii. The value of currents and voltages will be shown at ‘IPROBE’ and

‘viewpoint’ part.

iv. However, in AC circuit, do not use the ‘IPROBE’ and ‘viewpoint’.

v. In AC series-circuit, get a part name ‘offpage’ and put it between each

component.

vi. Choose ‘Analysis’ from toolbar and choose ‘Setup’

vii. Choose ‘Transient’ and fill in ‘Print Step’ with 0.02ms and ‘Final Time’ with

2ms, then close it.

viii.Choose ‘Analysis’ and then ‘Simulate’

ix. The window ‘Probe’ will appear

x. Choose ‘Trace’ from the toolbar and choose ‘Add’

xi. Choose the voltage or current values that want to analyse, click ‘OK’

xii. The sine wave will appear on the graph show the value of current or

voltage

xiii.In AC parallel-circuit, the part name ‘offpage’, do not use due to all

voltages are same in the circuit.

xiv.The analysis is continue same with AC series-circuit.

5. Copy the drawing circuit by choosing ‘Edit’ and then ‘Copy to Clipboard’

6. Copy the sine wave graph by choosing ‘Tool’ and the ‘Copy to Clipboard’

7. Paste at Microsoft Word to save the data

8. By using the same circuit, calculate the currents and voltages by conventional

method using the calculator.

Results:
A. DC circuits
a. One source

b. Two sources
B. AC circuits
