This course is designed to expand students worldview through literature, while vastly improving writing, reading, and critical thinking skills. Students will read and respond to a variety of world literature, synthesizing content, connecting relevance, evaluating and reproducing writing styles, and further relating to different genres. Through reading literature from around the world, students will advance in reading skills, writing technique, and making larger connections to the world around them. Students will produce comparative and analytical essays, multi-media presentations, creative projects, and a formal research paper.

Worth 10% of students grade. Students are expected to be fully prepared with all materials in class, and are not permitted to leave class to get forgotten materials. Students are expected to actively participate in class every day.

Ab sence:

For each day absent, the student has a day to make up the missed work. Missed quiz/tests must be made up within a week. Long-term assignments given with advanced notice of a week+ must be handed in on the due date, regardless of absence. It is the students responsibility to seek out missed work, notes, and assignments.

Students & Parents are encouraged to stay up to date on grades through Edline.

Homework: 25% deducted for each day late. HW will not be accepted after 3 days. Essays/Projects: 10% deducted for each day late.
