3 Title Le Corbusier the Architect Who Will Live Forever

Zadatak br.4 Abstract Le Corbusier was one of the most famous modernism architects whose work, especially after World War II, had a lot of impact on todays architecture. Although, many books have been written about him, they usually never compare his architecture to any other. By analyzing some of his objects and the way he created architecture we come to a conclusion that his impact on other architects, some even from Serbia, was a lot bigger than we think. He developed a Modulor, a system of proportions based on a golden section and human proportions. Also, another important thing he did was that he established two new architectural styles: International style and Brutalism. The fact that his style is still seen among the newest building structures confirms that he will continue to live on, even if it is just through architecture.

Zadatak br.6 Summary Le Corbusier the Architect Who Will Live Forever offers a detailed introduction to the life of Le Corbusier as an architect and his work after World War II. The text begins with describing his youth, his origins and his education all the way to his first job as an architect in Paris. Second page focuses on his work in the field of architecture and urban planning, after World War II and talks about some of his most famous project such as Unite dHabitation, Chapel Notre Dame du Haut, also known as Ronchamp, the center of the Chandigarh city and La Tourette monastery. Then few words are said about International style which represents the feature of minimalistic and functional trends in architecture and which was developed by Le Corbusier. After that some examples from Serbian architecture, from that period, are mentioned. The last part provides the reader with information

about another architectural style called Brutalism. It tends to use materials in their natural form without much processing. Also, some buildings from Serbian architecture, which contain marks from Brutalism style, are mentioned. In the conclusion the reader can read about the impact le Corbusier had on many other architects and see that he was a brave man with bright ideas that still live on.
