Session Structure Lesson Phase Orientation /Introduction How best to motivate and explain the importance of this lesson? This should be for about 5 minutes with links to prior learning or experiences. Teaching strategy/Learning Activities What will support the students to learn the concepts you are trying to teach and to reach the learning outcomes? How will you cater for a diversity of learning needs?

Introduce the letter t through soundwaves session. Explain how to sit correctly while writing and how to hold a pencil. Introduce the point, pinch, flick technique. Get all of the children to practice the technique for holding the pencil and practice writing the letter t in the air first. Get the children to do finger and arm exercises before starting writing.

Break up the children into group of 2. I will work with 1 group at the whiteboard and the other children will work through each activity with two children working at one station at a time. Say the letter and the sound, look at what the letter looks like. 7 ways of writing the letter: 1. In large version on whiteboard take the students arms for a ride and guide them through the motions first and then get them to repeat it 10 times 2. In sand with their finger repeat 10 times 3. Sticking tissue paper onto the letter 4. With chalk on a blackboard 5. Using the Ipad and a stylus repeat 10 times 6. Using a pencil on paper repeat 10 times 7. On paper using glue stick and tea leaves Get the students back on the mat and recap how to hold a pencil and the importance of sitting correctly. Get all the students to write the letter t on the whiteboard.
