Ripples are Have an ? overview of Ripples as a self coaching and coaching process See why we use ? Ripples
When we throw a pebble into a pond, ripples form. Nothing in the pond escapes the ripples. Just so, in family and organisational systems, we also can't escape the ripples of each ones impact on the system. Each individual causes a ripple effect in the ocean of us. Why do we use the Ripples nugget? To become conscious of the ripples that we make in the systems that we belong to. To do our best to make sure our ripples are positive contributions to the collective. How do we use the Ripples nugget?
Consider the conscious and unconscious impact each individual makes on the collective. Instead of thinking in purely solitary terms, expanding our thinking to systems thinking brings new levels of possibility and appreciation. We are interdependent on the systems that we belong to. In order to completely transform our circumstances, we need to include the bigger systems in our thinking and planning. In the past countries, families, groups, and organisations have mostly had narrow views of the world, looking only at their isolated needs and interests, rather than giving consideration for the bigger collectives that they belong to. The global economic crashes that occur when larger countries are hit by financial crisis is a good example and a reminder of just how interdependent we are. The ecology of the planet is another good example of the broader systems that we each contribute to. We all make ripples and we are all impacted by the ripples of us all!
