Plagiarism: Plagiarism is a form of cheating that involves stealing another persons ideas. Plagiarism does not always involve direct copying of another persons work and it is not always intentional (you might not even realize you are doing it). Plagiarism is not tolerated in educational or professional settings. Make sure you are aware of the types of situations that are classified as plagiarism so that you can avoid it. Any work that is plagiarized (according to your teachers judgment) will receive a grade of zero and will require resubmission. Please be aware that should you be caught for plagiarism in postsecondary institutions, you will be penalized with much harsher consequences (including expulsion from colleges/universities), so learn how to avoid plagiarism now! What Counts as Plagiarism? Word for word copying without proper APA quotations Inaccurate internal citations. Close imitation of another persons ideas/wording/language Failure to include a source of information in your reference list Submitting a report/lab that is the same or closely resembles your classmates

What are the Consequences of Plagiarism? A grade of zero (with the opportunity to resubmit at the teachers discretion) Both parties to receive a grade of zero if copying/sharing of ideas is apparent.
