The Roles of Stakeholders in Curriculum Implementation

STAKEHOLDERS
Individuals or institutions that are interested in the school curriculum Their interest vary in degree and complexity The curriculum affects them directly or indirectly They shape the school curriculum implementation

1. Learners at the center of the Curriculum

LEARNERS

The Learners are the very reason a curriculum is developed They are directly influenced by the Curriculum Learners in all levels make or unmake the Curriculum by their active and direct involvement They are the PRIMARY Stakeholders in the Curriculum

2. Teachers as Curriculum Developers and Implementers

TEACHERS
Planning and writing the Curriculum are their primary roles As Curriculum makers, they write Curriculum daily through a lesson plan As Architects of Curriculum, they are empowered to develop their own school Curricula based on expertise, context of the school and abilities of the learners

TEACHERS
As decision makers, they decide which of the plans should be put into action and how should be done As implementer, they guide, facilitate and direct activities to be done by the students The choice of activities, the methods to be utilized and the materials to be used are considered in curricular implementation

3. Curriculum Managers and Administrators

Curriculum Managers and Admin


They supervise Curriculum implementation They select and recruit new teachers, admit students, procure equipment and materials needed for affective learning They also plan for the improvement of school facilities and physical plants They have a great concern about what kind of curriculum their schools offer and how these are implemented

4. Parents as Supporters to the Curriculum

Parents
They are responsible for their childs education Effective parental involvement in school affairs The parents involvement extends from school to home In most schools the Parent Association is organized

5. Community Members as Curriculum Resources

Community
They

may be included in school boards They can be resource speakers They can be interviewed They are the living masters who can provide local and indigenous knowledge in school curriculum

6. Other stakeholders
Ex: professional organizations Government(DepEd & CHED)
