use everyday materials to build a cell(plant or animal) model showing the key parts of a cell. Know the Score!
As you work through the activity use the rubric below as a guide to earning your grade. TURN THIS PAPER IN WITH YOUR PROJECT Procedure 1. Use materials to build a plant or animal cell model. Your model should be three dimensional , not flat. Follow the materials guidelines below. 2. Your model must show cellular parts of the cell in their book on pages A12-A13 (cell membrane, cytoplasm, cell wall, chloroplasts, nucleus). Use the pictures of the cell provided to justify the sizes and numbers. Label the parts of your cell. 3. Build your model so that the size is no larger than 1 foot by 1 foot. 4. Complete the key on the back of the paper or create your own key that you attach to your project.

Material Guidelines
To hold your cell use boxes; plastic bags; clear plastic containers (NO GLASS). Dry foods such as seeds, beans, nuts, pasta (NO SUGARS/FOODS THAT SPOIL). Small items such as beads, pipe cleaners, straw, buttons, batteries, thread, ribbons, shoestrings, yarn, elastic. Materials such as sponges, clay, fabric, cardboard, newspaper. (NO LIQUIDS OR GELS that can make a leaky mess). Use your creativity and imagination. HAVE FUN! Below Basic (1) Does not complete key for cellular structures showing a lack of effort or understanding. Model does not show all parts or there are 3 or more errors. Model show a lack of effort and demonstrate work quickly done with a poor appearance Basic (2) Completes key for cellular structures with 4 or more errors. Model has all parts represented with 2 or more errors. Proficient (3) Accurately completes key for cellular structures with 2 or 3 errors. Model has all parts represented 1 error. Advanced (4) Accurately completes key for cellular structures with 0 or 1 errors. Model has all parts represented with 0 errors.
