The CCE process is integrated in to the combined cycle to create significant benefits for power plant owners and operators. Efficiency improvement of up to 1.7 % by promoting HP and IP steam production, resulting in improvements in combined cycle performance. Reduced CO2 and NOx emissions in line with efficiency improvements. Independent gas heating and rotor air cooling, allowing precise control and better satisfying the needs of flexible operations for CCGTs. Uniform and stable gas temperature, removing the risk of combustion problems associated with gas temperature variations. Use of proven technology which is robust, reliable and has a long service life. All performance improvements achieved at full and part load operations.

The example depicted here is that of a 701F3 fin-fan cooler with top-hat gas heater. The entire sub-system is replaced with a bespoke combined CCE skid providing alternative more efficient air cooling and gas heating.

Rotor Air Cooling Skid

New skid in-situ with local pipe connections re-established.

Gas Heating Skid CCEs rotor air cooling and gas heating process can enhance the thermal performance, operability and maintainability of your Mitsubishi or Siemens (formerly Westinghouse) 501 / 701 frame Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP). Delivering a significant heat rate reduction of up to 1.7%. The main hardware is delivered in skid mounted packages either as two standardised skids or as one bespoke combined skid. The new equipment is a direct replacement for the existing cooling technology and is delivered in skid form to minimise site integration works ensuring installation can be completed during routine maintenance periods. All major equipment is proven technology and is designed for long service life assuming base load or flexible operations of the gas turbine.
