Date Released: Tuesday 24th September 2013 RESIDENTS FURY OVER BEING DUBBED NIMBYS Mini-town developers, Crest Nicholson, have angered a local residents action group over their decision to appoint a London team of NIMBY specialists. Arborfield Garrison Residents Action Group (AG-RAG) say they have been approached by a London consultancy to discuss their concerns and aspirations about the proposed 3,500 home mini-town. However, it has been revealed that one of its top Directors contributed to an article in a leading national Planning magazine that suggested residents who fight controversial planning applications are rural NIMBYs that dump what development they do need! Gill Purchase, spokeswomen for the Group, says. First and foremost AG-RAG are not NIMBYs. We are a group of dedicated residents who freely give time and professional expertise to get a better future for our community. We have always supported the need for a reasonable but sustainable development. We cannot believe that yet another company of consultants has been appointed to find out our views. Weve been expressing these to the Developers for the past for four years but they just haven't listened. Whats the point over going over old ground yet again? When Crest Nicholson brings something new to the table, we will be more than happy to discuss the new plans with them.
