Dear Chairman Obey and Ranking Member Lewis:

I am requesting funding for Law enforcement equipmentfor tlte Lake County Sheriff's
Department in fiscal year 2010. The entity to receive funding for this project is the Lake
County Sheriff's Department, located at:

Lake County Sheriffs Department

2293 North Main Street
Crown Point, Indiana 46307

The funding would be used for the Lake County Sheriff s Department to begin the initial !
steps in the consolidation of Lake County's IS dispatch centers. This consolidation will require
the purchase of new interoperable radios and the corresponding software system for the
participating departments. This project, which was developed by the Lake County Public Safety
Commission, will result in significant cost savings and a new level of government efficiency by
improving the response capabilities ofthe county's first responders.
