My philosophy is based around creating the most positive environment for each individual student. I am constantly inspired by students unique qualities and I strive to harness and celebrate each childs individuality in my classroom. My classroom is a caring, welcoming, happy and safe place for all of my students. This is reflected in my students respect for one another, respect for me and respect for themselves. Being an optimistic person myself, I elicit this quality throughout my teaching which creates a positive atmosphere in the classroom, engaging and challenging my students throughout each lesson. During my time at Laburnum Primary School, I have become an active member of the classroom community. On top of my regular placement duties, I volunteer weekly to gain further teaching and learning experience. This has allowed my teaching practices to be enhanced as I have been involved in the collaborative classroom setting on a regular basis. Furthermore, I have been heavily involved with the schools representation at School Spectacular attending rural rehearsals, dress rehearsals and weekly lunchtime practices. Throughout these rounds my teaching experiences have continued to improve through:
Independently designed and delivered creative and engaging units of work Assessing, planning and reporting to AusVELS and Australian Curriculum. o This included planning, delivering and assessing Engligh sequences to the Australian Curriculum standards focusing on persuasive writing and poetry. (ACELA1478), (ACELY1682), (ACELT1600). o In addition, planning, delivering and assessing 3D shapes sequence against the Australian Curriculum standards in mathematics (ACMMG063).
Stephanie immediately set out to build a strong rapport with the students and succeeded in doing so. She was extremely sensitive to the needs of the students Terryn Olden, 2012, Mont Albert Primary School.
