My Personal Statement My Personal Statement

I am near that end of my first semester of my Education classes I am writing my personal statement as to why I have the desire to teach. In this essay I will affirm my decision to become a teacher. After much thought and consideration I will state why I want to teach, review the traits I possess that would make me and effective teacher, I will share the characteristics of the students I want to teach, try and foretell of the characteristics of the community where I want to teach, and how I could contribute to the profession of teaching. I do understand that the more I learn about teacher my passions will only become more refined, developed and strengthened. Since I was a child I have always had the dream of possibly one day becoming a teacher. During the summer my siblings and I would always play school with the old worksheet we had around the house. When I was in the eighth grade I was in a private school. The name of the school of was Progressive Christian Academy. In this school they served Pre-school through the eighth grade. Several days throughout the year I would sit in first and second grade classes and assist the teacher in various subjects; from then on I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. At a young age I knew that I enjoyed the learning process. When I was in high school I would often assist the schools Spanish teacher, Senora Kern, whose health was failing on top of having a very strong accent which was impossible to students to understand her spoken English. Now that I am older life though life has had its ups and downs I want to pursue the opportunity to become and teacher because I feel can make a difference in someones life as other strong influences have impacted my life to whom I am grateful for the lessons, the time and the efforts to ensure I did not become a statistic like many of my peers. In a sum, I want to become a teacher because I enjoy the learning process and the ability to make a difference in the future of the lives that I could impact resulting in making a difference in the future of our

My Personal Statement country. The satisfaction of the sparkle in the eye of a student that final grasps the concept of what you are teaching is a feeling that is not compared to any I have ever experienced. The traits I believe I possess that would make me an effective teacher are that I am innovative, patient, committed and able to find joy and contentment in teaching. I enjoy the learning process and therefore think that am creative enough to understand my students and the subject matter well enough to have the ability to explore many creative options to present information to students in a manner that is suitable for comprehension regardless of the learning style of the students present. Patience is a very important trait. A student is sensitive to the feelings of the environment around them. Lack of patients can destroy the ability to communicate anything to a student. I believe that patients and perseverance is the most important trait. Patients mixed with gentleness end the end will be met with a lifelong

knowledge that cannot be taken away from the student for the rest of their life. I now believe It is very important to set the tone for the right classroom climate, and spirit of community to build proper communication between the educator and the students but also patient and tolerance for a health line of communications among the students. Patients also require an understanding of the culture, ethnicity, and home life of the pupil to know more and effective means of communication. Lastly I am committed; I am mission that is student focused. I am committed to learn everything I can do to enrich the life of each student. Understanding I am still learning I am committing myself to learn more about the world around me, to learn more to think outside the box, to learn and explore new sources of information and to develop better people skills to that I can constantly remain to die to myself and keep the main focus of the students and their development the main thing that matters when it comes to becoming the most effective educator I can become.

My Personal Statement In a prefect work assuming that all students are eager to learn. The characteristics of the students in the class I would like to teach would be a mixture of at risk students, a mixture of ethnic and cultural diversity, and students from a diverse socioeconomic background. I would not want to become fixated on one particular category, which I assume would happen over a period of time from repetitive exposure to one particular way or mentality. I would like the demographics of the class that I teach to be diverse to extremes so that is will challenge and

allow me to diversify my method of presentation and allow more of a true community within the classroom so that the environment that I am preparing is a true representation of the world around us. In my opinion, exposure to ethnical diversity at a younger age will better equip the students to become well rounded in their understanding of diversity and social tolerance. Now that I have an understanding of the class and the characteristics of the students I would like to teach. I can confidently say that I would want to work in a community equally as difference; but most importantly, I want to work in a community that has pride, a community that takes responsibility for their community and are as equally as active and involved to making their community better. I could have the best intentions to be a teacher; however if it is not a community effort I believe that it would be as though I were kicking against the picks. One person cannot do it all everyone has a role to play. I could create a social, and educationally safe environment inside the classroom, the community is responsible for the community. In my belief that the community is responsible for the community it will be my goal to take part in that community in any capacity that I can responsibly become active. The contributions that I aim to contribute; first, recognize the supreme importance of the pursuit of truth, devotion to excellence while believing in the worth and the dignity of each student. I do not hold any bias concerning race, color, creed, sexual orientation, sex, marital status, political

My Personal Statement nor religious beliefs. Secondly, I will ensure the creation on a class climate and community environment that that is academically, and socially safe for all students allowing them to take part in their learning process while respecting the differences of styles and needs. Lastly, I will

dedicate myself to know each of my students home life, culture, ethnicity, and needs so that I can further build upon the foundation that was laid at home. It is my desire to eliminate, with the best of my ability any obstacle that would stand in the way of the knowledge that will be trained to teach.
