My role in the policy Equality/inclusive policy

Childcare Act 2006

This Act places a duty on local authorities to Ensure that childcare services meet the needs of working parents,
especially those on low incomes, or children with special needs and to ensure that parents have access to the full range of information they may need as parents C, Meggit et al 2011 p 314 This act also introduced the new Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) The EYFS has Safeguarding and Welfare standard which all early years setting must follow these include; Equality of opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice, my

role is to follow the policies and procedures in my setting and ensure that when I plan activities I find out about individual childrens needs and plan for these so that all the children can take part. It also means that I have a
duty to challenge any discrimination and be a good role model to children for example encourage children to respect and value each other.

Legislation 2.1
1. Name of legislation or Code of Practice 2. Reference where you got this from 3. Explain your role in this, what you would do in placement, give an example?

Inclusion Task A2 1

Fill in the missing words

Inclusive practice means promoting the development of all children whatever their background, race, gender or ability. Inclusive practice means ensuring that they and their families feel included, valued, motivated and empowered. It also involves good anti-discriminatory practice where equality issues become an integral part of the curriculum and discrimination is challenged. Differences are embraced and celebrated, respect towards each other is promoted and inequality is actively confronted. What do the words in red mean?????
