Grading: Grades are calculated per Bonaire Middle Schools grading policy. End Unit Assessments (Tests and projects) 35% Inside Unit Assessments (Quizzes) 30% Daily Assessments (Classwork) 25% General Assessments (Homework) 10% In the seventh grade, a comprehensive nine-weeks test beginning first semester will count 10% of the nine-week grade. Students will be given ample notice of test dates and projects. Quizzes may be planned or pop. Dont forget that Infinite Campus is available to view your childs grades. Notebook: You will need a binder that you can easily organize your contents into four sections: warm-ups, classwork/notes/examples, homework, quizzes/tests. Homework: You cannot learn without practicing so it is important that you complete your homework each night. You should correct all homework as it is reviewed the next day. Homework will be graded on completion, unless told otherwise. Homework not turned in on time will not be given full credit. It is my policy that students with no homework will complete the homework in class the next day for a grade of 50. Go for the 100 and do your homework the night it is assigned. Make-up Work: If you miss class, it is your responsibility to copy down and make-up assignments. All work must be made up within five (5) school days unless you are out for an extended period of time. It is a good idea to select a buddy in the class that you can call to get your make-up work the day you miss it. Test If you are absent on the day of a test, you will take the make-up test the day of your return. Supplies: In addition to your notebook, you will need graph paper (standard graph paper with five squares per inch is best), notebook paper, a ream of copy paper, dry-erase markers (low odor), pencils, 6 three-pronged folders (not plastic) and dividers for your binder for four sections. Extra Help: Please do not wait to come in for extra help if you do not understand. I will be available after school on Mondays from 2:50 3:30. Let me know ahead of time if you plan to stay, and parents please make sure your child is picked up on time at the front office.
