Writing from scratch Research paper 8 Oct, 10:00 AM (4d 16h) Extend deadline College (1-2 years: Freshmen, Sophomore) Health Care background 4 No APA 2 Double spaced 550 ppt icon 0 background (rationale for research) background info in NZ: relationship between: diet obesity; physical activity (PA) obesity + dietary intake (discuss low and high socio-economic groups with respect to NZ) Being placed as the 7th most obese nation in the world, the population of New Zealand are at risk of obesity related mortality. Our proposal is to investigate into the causes of obesity and by doing so we can then begin to implement interventions that address the target that reduces the risk or prevent obesity. With 20.9% of New Zealand being obese and majority of obese population being Maori and Pacific Islander, our research also aims at reducing the health inequities. The aim of the research if to investigate the effects of dietary intake and the level of physical activity have on the development of obesity across the different age groups and deciles within the New Zealand population. As we hypothesis that the level of physical activity and the level of nutritional dietary intake could be related to the individuals socioeconomic status. Our objective is to send out a census into the population targeted at different socioeconomic status (preferably by deciles) and observe the quality of dietary intake and the level of physical activity per individual. With these data we can then begin to form the link, seeing whether or not our hypothesis is valid.
