The weakening writ of the government and its nonseriousness has complicated the law and order situation of Karachi. Business community is the most affected community by these criminal activities. Traders of the city received calls and 'chit' demanding extortion. Small business and daily wages earners are also affect during mourning days Industrialists have started relocating their units to different countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia.

Police and Rangers check posts have been set up in the affected areas of the city. The strength of Karachi police is being enhance to effectively deal with the law and order situation. CPLC(citizen police liaison committee) chief, said that the home department would setting up command and control system with 900 close circuit TV (CCTV) cameras to monitor the city in order to curb criminal activities. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last week finalized modalities for launching an operation in Pakistan's largest city of Karachi to end target killings, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and widespread crime. An operation by police and paramilitary Pakistan Rangers is likely launched in Karachi from few days. Rangers and Police are doing search operations, & arrested many peoples daily from different areas in Karachi.
