The Degree of Applying Decentralized Administration on


General Directorates of Education in the Capital Governorate
from the view point Public and Private Basic School
Principals.

Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the degree of applying decentralized


administration on general directorates of education in the Capital
Governorate from the view point Public and private basic school
principals. The sample of the study consisted of (293) male and
female principals distributed on three directorates: First Amman
directorate the second, Amman directorate the second, and private
education directorate. The principals were drawn randomly by using
stratified random sample method. The researcher constructed a
questionnaire, to measure the degree of applying decentralized
administration on general directorates of education. The face validity
of the tool was found. The reliability was found by using (test- re
test) method and Cronbach Alpha formula.
Means, standard deviations and t-test were used to manipulate
data statistically.

The finding of the study were:


_ The degree of applying decentralized administration on the general
directorates of education, in general, and for each area of the tool
was moderate, from public basic school principal's point of view.
_ The degree of applying decentralization administration on the
general directorates of education, in general, and for each area of the
tool was moderate, from private basic school principal's point of
view.
_ There were no significant differences at (α ≤0.05) in the degree of
applying decentralization administration on general directorates of
education, in general, and for each area of the tool attributed to the
kind of school (public or private).

In light of the findings, the following recommendations were


presented:
_ More Implementing of the decision of Ministry of Education
regarding applying administrative decentralization in schools.
_ Providing directors and other employees the trust to conduct their
administrative tasks.
_ Conducting similar to find out the effect of applying
decentralization administration on the quality of public education in
Jordan.
