The Moderator The Guest Performer Leanna Hall-Diana Quetti A junior in Business Administration with a Heidi of THE HEIDI CHRONICLES is a junior in Marketing concentration and a minor in Theatre Communication Media with a minor in theatre arts. Arts, her previous credits with University Theatre Previous credits include the Rebel Ensemble in include the ensemble of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Urinetown, The Arabian Nights, Ms. White/The Dunyazade in Arabian Nights, Meg March in Little White Queen in Alice in Wonderland, Edna in An Women, Christina Mundy in Dancing at Lughnasa, Inspector Calls, and a performer in the NCSU and a member of the RENT and Urinetown Libraries & University Theatres Banned Book Event ensembles. Leanna also performed in NCSU in 2011. Diana is a brother of Alpha Psi Omega, the Libraries Red, White, and Banned in celebration of National Collegiate Honorary Dramatic Fraternity as Banned Books Week. Leanna is also a Student well as a sister and Vice President of Operations for Network Group Mentor for the college of Kappa Delta. Management. The Panel Dr. Lisa Bass An assistant professor in the College of Education, Dr. Bass received her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy studies and Comparative and International Education from Pennsylvania State University. Her work focuses on education reform, with an emphasis on the education of disadvantaged students through the lenses of alternative education and ethics. An additional research interest is education reform internationally. To this end, Dr. Bass has travelled to Mexico, Ghana, W. Africa, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Brazil. Her work has been published in national research journals. Her most recent accomplishment is the completion of a co-authored book, entitled, Building Bridges from High Poverty Communities, to Schools, to Productive Citizenship: A Holistic Approach to Addressing Poverty through Exceptional Educational Leadership. Dr. Heidi Grappendorf Assistant Director of Leadership/Scholar in Residence at the NC State Womens Center, Dr. Grappendorf received her Bachelors in Social Science from Dana College, MA in Physical Education/Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado, and her PhD in Physical Education/Sport Administration from the University of New Mexico. Dr. Grappendorfs research interests include the under-representation of women and people of color in leadership. She has published research articles and text book chapters related to women and leadership. Dr. Grappendorf has a particular interest related towards women in sport management and the STEM disciplines. She is heavily engaged with womens groups on campus and nationally. Ms. Allison Bergman Director of THE HEIDI CHRONICLES and assistant director of University Theatre, Ms. Bergman is a veteran stage director of more than thirty theatre productions in Los Angeles, Boston, Pittsburgh and New York City. She holds a BFA in theatre studies from Boston University and an MFA in directing from Carnegie Mellon University where she was a Steven Bochco Scholar. She studied acting, dance and voice at L.A. City College Theatre Academy, American National Academy of Performing Arts, and Southern California Conservatory of Music, and has won a Drama-Logue Award for Directing. Ms. Bergman is a dramaturgical consultant with several projects in development in New York and Los Angeles. She is the former artistic director of Broadway On Sunset and co-founder of The West Coast Musical Theatre Conference. She has also coauthored ACTING THE SONG Performance Skills for the Musical Theatre, and penned the libretto for a new musical, Ancient City. Before moving to the East Coast, she had been named Outstanding Woman in Theatre in Los Angeles. Ms. Deborah Brown A Poole College of Management Lecturer in the Department of Management, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Brown previously served as the Coordinator of the Management Department as well as taught in the Management Department at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. For several years her focus has centered on global business, particularly in China. Ms. Brown has organized and directed a six week study abroad trip to China for three years. She earned a BS & MS in Management Science from Clemson University. Ms. Brown has a rich history of experience in industry and government employment and consulting with previous positions including Assistant Traffic Manager for a manufacturer, Convention Coordinator for a hotel, Purchasing Agent for a chemical manufacturer, and Consulting in Supervisory Training and Customer Service Contracts for Government and Industry.

Ms. Jan Morgan The Parent Involvement Coordinator and HomeSchool Coordinator of Old Town Elementary School in Winston-Salem, as well as a local actress, Ms. Morgan is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a BA in Spanish. Ms. Morgan received her professional drama training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, later earning an MFA in Creative Writing from Brown University. As an educator, writer and actress, Ms. Morgan's professional experiences include performing in bilingual theatre in the American Southwest and Mexico, writing theatre reviews and arts/entertainment pieces for regional weeklies and teaching Modern Drama and Communication courses, at Meredith College. A TheatreFest company member for many years, as well as a frequent guest artist with University Theatre, Ms. Morgan was last seen here in 2011's THE GARDEN DISTRICT, under the direction of her good friend, John McIlwee. In addition, Ms. Morgan is the founder and director of TEATRO, an innovative program of creative dramatics for young ESL students. Dr. Janet Rakes A Career Counselor for the Poole College of Management Office of Undergraduate Programs, Dr. Rakes previously worked as a Middle Grades Academy Coordinator in the College of Education at NC State University, a Career Counselor in the Career Services Center at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Language Arts and Social Studies teacher in the Virginia and North Carolina Public School Systems. Janet earned her BA in English and Psychology, her MA & MS in Education and Counseling, and her PhD in Curriculum and Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
