Republican National Committee PR Campaign

Introduction
The RNC has been confronted with the issue of increasing voter participation in minority demographics dating back to the Reagan administration. In an attempt to gain a larger market-share of AfricanAmerican voters, this campaign will focus on the pinnacle issue driving black voters to the polls. And what might that be?

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs


Research has indicated that a growing number of African-Americans are frustrated with the current unemployment rate. Given that African-Americans are the leading statistical demographic for unemployed individuals by race, many African-Americans are paying much closer attention to each partys platform regarding job creation.

RNC Benefits
This is a prime opportunity for the RNC to gain the attention of a large share of black voters by focusing a campaign targeted at job creation, specifically targeted at job growth in African-American communities. A campaign called GOT WORK?

RNC Involvement
The central focus of this campaign would be to improve African-American voters sentiment regarding the Republican Party. What better way to achieve this than to let voters know that the GOP is empathetic with their needs especially when it comes to increasing employment. One of the special projects associated with this campaign is for every corporate affiliate of the GOP to introduce a management training program specifically targeted to African-Americans.

Reaching Demographics
Surveys Focus Groups Surveys and focus groups can be used to identify which Republican platforms African-American identify with, and which ones the oppose so strongly that they do not align themselves with the party. In addition, it can be used to identify who has voted Republican in the pastidentifying those who would more likely to vote Republican again in the future.

Sample Survey
Have you ever voted Republican? Would you ever vote Republican? Do you think your views and beliefs are represented in the republican party? Do you think that African-Americans are represented well in the Republican party? Can you relate to the views in the Republican partys platform? What views in the Republican partys platform do you disagree with?

PR Audit Internal
Of the two major political parties, the Republican party is staunchly conservative. Although, the ideology of the Republican party is based upon classical liberalism, the common misconception today about the party is that it is based upon the rejection of liberal ideology. Modern Republicans emphasize the role of free market economies, and oppose extreme government intervention in social reform and free market affairs. This also includes issues largely contingent upon individuals rights and personal beliefs such as opposition to same sax marriage and abortion.

PR Audit - External
Despite initially being founded as an anti-slavery response to the southern Democratic party in the 1800s, AfricanAmerican sentiment regarding the Republican party has become increasingly more negative since the turn of the century. Summed up by the infamous words of Kanye West, many African-Americans believe that George Bush and other huge name Republicans dont care about black people. In fact, the common perception among African-Americans is that many Republicans are wealthy individuals interested in further making the rich richer, the poor poorer, and using propaganda in the media to fuel their own self-interests.
