Wetlands Wetlands are shallow water systems and they have diverse topographical settings Wetlands locations vary

greatly, but their water fluctuating levels are enteral to all of them. The rising of water is affected by tides precipitation or runoff Our activity and other animals can determine water levels Wet lands are long lived because of the events that are economically devastating for people The way that short term destruction ensures long term gain is poorly understood by us humans Because people destroy them, ecosystems could no longer serve to absorb flood waters It encompasses an array of shallow water and saturated soil environment Plant and animals vary based on the dryness of the year Wetlands re dependent on the quantity and quality of water especially small wetlands

Wetlands are shallow water systems with water near surface for some time. They can be found in diverse topographical setting. Water levels influence the character of wetlands but they also link wetlands to one another and to the other aquatic systems. Wetlands are highly dependent on the quantity and quality of water in their immediate area because of their sensitivity to water level mainly small or isolated wetlands. The things that we identify as economically devastating are in fact benefiting from them. For Example Raging fires burn excess deposited organic matter and recycle nutrients. Hurricanes and highvelocity floods scour sediments and organic matter, removing them from wetlands or creating wetlands nearby. Droughts temporarily destroy hydrophytic vegetation and allow oxidation and compaction of organic soils. The fact that only 6% of the earth is wetlands and were destroying them and not keeping the balance of nature will hurt the many animals and plants that depend on it. Not only that but also it will cut their benefit for us such as helping the level of rivers and more.

Wetlands are important part of nature and need to be taken care of or if not so shouldnt be destroyed. They have so many seen but unrecognizable uses for humans but the thing that is visible to us is our economy development and by doing that we will destroy them. And if we see it in contrast they give us so much more that if they werent there anymore there wouldnt be a balance between nature and us. They are used to balance floods and are used by various aquatic plants and animals.

So what? Wetlands are very important in various ways such as: They are highly productive ecosystems, and are able to capture energy and provide food for many animals. They provide a natural water balance in the landscape and help to provide protection against floods. They provide opportunities for scientific research. What if..? Wet lands are destroyed? We will lose so many benefits like floods will occur often and animals will be driven to extinction. Says who? Jon A. Kusler, William J. Mitsch and Joseph S. Larson What does this remind me of? Easter island: The fact that the people cut the trees for the most unreasonable reason and at last they were the ones who didnt know what to do because after they destroyed them they learned that they needed them.
