Q2 Goals, Measures, and Calendar Q2 Foci Measures of Success

1) Attendance of community experiences, reflection dinner, and All-Corps 2) Reflections on what we have learned, where we have come in our understanding of the community

Q2 Goals Community
Every CM has multiple community experiences. Every CM sees their community as an asset and point of pride.

Aligned Structures to support you

Calendar of events with partners that we have established relationships with. Reflection dinner for each community in mid-November November All-Corps with Curtis Acosta

Rigor
Students are bearing the burden of the thinking and talking in class. Students are working hard on things they say are important to them. Every CM is writing and backwards planning from assessments that are at least at the analysis/application level. Every CM is implementing strategies and structures that promote a studentled classroom.

1) CMs are asking open-ended, non-leading questions and providing wait time. 2) Student-Teacher talking ratio 3) Unit tests mostly require kids to think at the analysis/application level. 4) Engagement with Rigorous Content: Analysis/Application or above. 5) CMs can articulate and/or MTLD observes use of 2+ strategies or structures being used to promote a student-led classroom. 1) CMs share updated data and unit test before observation 2) CMs can articulate how their data informs their planning and instruction 3) In interviews, students can answer, What are you learning this year? Are you on track to meet your goal? How do you know? 4) In interviews, students can answer questions specific to that classroom vision.

Progress

How I will spend my time:

This quarter, my intent is to focus my coaching on one community each week. I think this will be more time efficient, make my brain more focused, ensure folks have a consistent point of contact with me, and bring some structure to our work together. How will it work? The week before Im coming to your community Ill reach out with a schedule asking you to sign up and a reminder to share plans for the day, updated data, and a pre-observation guide. The next week, Ill observe and meet with people on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday is an optional day to continue with coaching in your community, or a flex day for me to work with someone in a different community who has something urgent they need support with. If your community is not on my monthly skeleton but you want to me to come or would like a touch point, we can absolutely still do that! It will likely be on a Thursday if its a classroom visit. I cant read your mind though, so you have to let me know !
