is
a
Professor
Emeritus
from
the
University
of
Kansas.
She
has
a
long
career
of
active
involvement
in
clinical
music
therapy
research
including
work
as
a
research
consultant
at
the
Eastern
Kansas
VA
Health
Care
System
for
20
years.
While
at
the
VA
she
consulted
for
the
Department
of
Veterans
Affairs
to
develop
a
tool
kit
for
transitional
rehabilitation
to
serve
combat
injured
service
members.
She
consults
currently
for
the
National
Endowment
for
the
Arts
at
the
National
Intrepid
Center
of
Excellence
and
Walter
Reed
National
Military
Hospital
in
Washington,
DC
regarding
music
therapy
clinical
interventions
and
research
in
the
rehabilitation
of
service
members.
As
the
recipient
of
numerous
national
awards,
including
the
Lifetime
Achievement
Award
from
the
American
Music
Therapy
Association,
Dr.
Clair
has
also
served
on
the
editorial
boards
of
research
journals
including
the
Journal
of
Music
Therapy
and
Music
Therapy
Perspectives.
