Introduction Objectives Existing system Proposing system Advantage Disadvantage Conclusion

In our project we are going to change the gateway address of the router automatically by using HSRP (Hot Standby Routing Protocol) protocol.

Design of ipv6 network. Implement the dynamic protocol. Implement the HSRP protocol.

In todays network scenario, a client in a Company/business concern/educational institution is internally connected to head quarters and externally to internet. When there is frequent interruption or there is a hardware failure, there is no redundancy in the existing network setup.

In this existing system whenever there is any problem occurs in one router we have to type the gateway address for change the path to the another router. This is the main disadvantage of this system.

In

this project, we are trying to find out a solution through implementation of HSRP (Hot Standby Routing Protocol) which gives robustness to the network and allows load sharing between links. Two routers connected to the same network are required to initiate HSRP.

HSRP

provides automatic Router backup and allows building resiliency when an active router in the group fails. The standby router assumes the role of the active router and continues routing packets. HSRP enables two or more routers to work together in a group to emulate a single virtual router to the source hosts on the LAN.

High Efficiency. High Reliability. High Redundancy. Load Balance.

Without power we cant use this system.

This is about our project overview. In our project we show the output in simulation software.
