The movie describes how the typo of Helvetica was created, what is the main idea and principles behind this typo, the development of this typo and other designers comments both positive and negative were quoted. The movie leads audience to think deeper about things behind typefaces instead of just encouraging people to use Helvetica. That is why I think it is informational. 3. Who is the primary audience it aimed at? It primarily aimed at graphic designers and other potential users of typefaces like companies and organizations. 4. What is the relevance of it to specic areas/topics of our course? The film relates to our topics of typography, fonts, typeface by introducing the process of creating the typefaces and the use of Helvetica. It relates to our topic in the very first week of design concepts and principles, like different designs(typeface) can send different messages. For Helvetica, it sends the message of neutralness and modern styles. 5. According to the lm, how does type affects our lives? Most obviously, type is a way to display the contexts. The readability and clarity of typos will first affect the effectiveness of information delivery. Besides, typeface also contains emotion and moods. Classic typeface makes people feel serious while handwriting-style typeface makes feel casual. Finally, as mentioned in the movie, design also contains social responsibilities. The international and rational typeface of Helvetica visualize the modern world to the public. 6. Will you use Helvetica for your future graphic projects? (optional) Yes.
