Instruction
The most current version of the PLTW curriculum is being used. Students are provided with the grading criteria for each project and assignment in advance. PLTW end-of-course assessments are being administered to students at the conclusion of each course. Gender-neutral teaching practices and materials are used for instruction. Students are required to individually apply mathematic and scientific concepts covered in the curriculum as evidenced in the student work.

Describe the criteria used to identify and recruit teachers for PLTW courses:

Teachers with Math or Science Endorsements and/or Technology Endorsements are preferred. If possible, we seek teachers with engineering backgrounds.

Selection and Recruitment:

Describe the process and criteria used to enroll students in the PLTW program. All freshmen are enrolled in IED. Depending upon their interest, they may choose to go into POE their sophomore year. We have 40 students currently on an engineering pathway.

Concurrent Mathematics:

Describe the procedures in place to ensure each student is concurrently enrolled in a college preparatory mathematics course. Our school is a college prep school. All students are enrolled in Algebra One, Geometry, and then an NMSU math course for their last two high school math credits.
