Classroom Procedures
Signals for Attention 1) One Spot - Using that spot ONLY for gaining students attention 2) Say the Secret Word - Students will choose a word they all like for the teacher to get attention. Grading 1) Vocabulary Review Sheets + = 100% NC = 0% (and will be handed back for students) 2) Everything Else! All other work including tests, projects, etc. will be graded by a percentage scale. A = 93-100% B = 83-86% C = 73-76% D= 63-66% A- = 90-92% B- = 80-82% C- = 70-72% B+ = 87-89% C+ = 77-79% D+ = 67-69%

Expected behavior will be observed and commented upon many times throughout every lesson period. I like the way _____ is helping _____. Well done staying on task _____.

Students are expected to treat each other with respect. Students are expected to be in their seats on time. Students are expected to come to class prepared. Students are expected to listen when someone else is talking.

Unexpected Misbehavior will be observed and swift action will be taken. A focus on solutions rather than punishment is the key focus. 1) Ask What should you be doing right now? 2) Ask What should you do to fix this? 3) If misbehavior continues, ask student to stay after class to discuss solutions. 4) If misbehavior continues, a discussion with parents and/or principal is necessary to create solutions.
