Integrated Studies Now What? We agreed to communicate with staff in the following manner: a. Summarize the IS proposal b. Summarize our process so far c. Ask for additional input from staff (written, personal or at a meeting next Tuesday) See attached handout which will be e-mailed to staff. 4. Integrated Studies How will we measure the success of the pilot? We had an excellent discussion with no conclusion. Some ideas that surfaced include: a. Measure the success of our students in grade 10 and beyond somehow (failure rates, dropout rates, graduation rates) b. Student success at the end of grade 9 based on core competencies and content. Whatever assessment we come up with should be created in consultation with the relevant departments. c. Attitude survey looking at engagement in school, ownership of learning. 5. Pro-d in May We talked about having departments work on developing Gr8/ 9 scope and sequences. Stefan will check with the ministry about the likelihood of draft curricula being available by then and June will talk to the Pro-D committee about the idea. 6. Next meeting: Tuesday, March 12, 2013 All staff will be invited to provide additional input at that meeting.
