Varia
The prayer below was recently composed and seeks the intercession and protection of St. Isidore of Seville (560-636) while on the Internet. It was apparently composed in Barcelona Spain at the Observation Service for Internet, which has proposed St. Isidore as the Patron saint of the Internet. OSI feels that St. Isidore is a logical choice since he wrote Etymologies, which is a sort of dictionary and database. Contrary to some press reports that have been circulating, nothing formal has been issued from the Vatican. Several other saints have been proposed by other groups as well.
From the web. This prayer has gotten around the web quite a bit, unfortunately without any attribution in most cases. The author, Fr. John T. Zuhlsdorf, noticed it on my web site and was kind enough to let me know he had composed it back when St Isidore was first proposed as the patron of the Internet
