Unit Three, Literacy Magazine MS Temecula Student Center Topic: Photography Magazine Learning Objectives:
Writing Objective: Students choice of writing: fiction/poetry, creative nonfiction, book reviews, art and photography (4 groups-students join desired group based on writing interest). Students are challenged to write based on interests- all student work is to be displayed.
Level: 6-8

These broad types of writing include many subgenres. See Appendix A for definitions of key writing types.
Challenge: Students will be divided into 4 groups: 1. Fiction/Poetry 2. Creative Non-Fiction 3. Book Reviews 4. Art and Photography The group can brainstorm headlines and writing goals based on the group they are in. All headlines/stories/funnies etc. to be approved by head editors (teachers).
