MISSION STATEMENT

The Department of Probation promotes public safety by providing community-oriented

criminal justice penalties. The Department fulfills its responsibilities by supplying
Criminal Court and Family Court with information and recommendations for court
dispositions, by giving victims and their communities a voice in the justice process,
supervising offenders through the monitoring and enforcing of their compliance with the
conditions of probation, and providing counseling and access to rehabilitation services.
