What is Bigger Bottom
Borrow?
Bigger bottom borrow is a mathematical
mnemonic, or a phrase that we use to remember
that when the bottom number in a subtraction
problem is larger than the top number we need to
borrow ten ones from the next number.
We also have a poem that helps us remember when
to use bigger bottom borrow

Here is a helpful table
If the number on top is Procedure
More No need to stop.
Continue subtracting as
normal.
Less (more on the floor) Go next door and borrow
ten more. This makes the
number on top more o no
need to stop.
The same Zero is the game. A
number minus itself is
zero.
